IAAI Auction Fees

IAAI (Insurance Auto Auctions) charges buyer fees on top of your winning bid. Unlike Copart, IAAI uses a single uniform schedule — fees do not vary by title type or vehicle class. Below is the full published schedule AutoRetta uses when calculating your estimated total cost.

What fees does IAAI charge?

Every IAAI purchase includes two price-tiered fees plus three flat per-vehicle fees on top of the winning bid:

Standard Volume Fee (Buyer Fee)

The main buyer surcharge, charged by IAAI on every purchase. Tiered by sale price — higher bids incur larger flat fees, with bids over $10,000 switching to 7.8% of the sale price.

Live Online Bid Fee

Charged when you bid via the internet rather than in-person. Also tiered by sale price. Free for bids under $100.

Environmental fee — $15.00

Flat environmental processing fee applied to every vehicle regardless of sale price.

Internet fee — $110.00

Flat internet fee charged by IAAI on every online purchase, regardless of sale price.

Title handling fee — $20.00

Flat fee for processing and mailing the vehicle title.

IAAI does not charge a gate fee. The environmental, internet, and title handling fees are flat charges applied to every vehicle regardless of the winning bid.

Proxy vs. Live Online bidding

IAAI offers two internet bidding methods. AutoRetta displays the Live Online Bid Fee (the higher tier) by default to give you a conservative estimate. If you bid via Proxy, the fee is slightly lower — for example, $40 instead of $50 in the $100–$499 range. Confirm your bidding method with IAAI to get the exact fee.

This schedule reflects IAAI's published Standard Volume Buyer rates. Fees may vary by payment method, specific yard location, and buyer tier. Always confirm final fees with IAAI before bidding. AutoRetta updates these tables as IAAI publishes changes.
